About

So, the girls at ahlivv were talking and decided you might want to know who we really are. In a world flooded with people claiming to be the ‘real’ thing, it’s hard to tell what’s truly authentic. So we will break it down for you. ahlivv was founded by two sisters, with a passion for skiing and style. Courtney and Lisa felt there was a niche in the market being missed…namely, the ahlivv girl. Since then, Courtney has added team members, who all bring something unique to the group, but share the same passion for action sports and fashion that the company was rooted in. Everything you see on ahlivv.com has been hand-picked by girls like you, who love action sports, and the action sports lifestyle. We are girls who want to ski, ride, skate and surf in style, without compromising quality. We love trends, but also have our own unique styles that we want to express.

Bottom Line: ahlivv is owned, operated and managed by girls like you.

Home Turf: Denver, CO…and Winter Park

Craziest Thing you’ve Done on Skis: Skiing trees in Vail (maybe it was Winter Park), we were moving pretty fast. Tons of fresh pow the night before made for a day of speed – momentum was priority number one to avoid trees, and especially their wells. Suddenly the trees thinned and the appearance of a flat area just below. So I b-lined, hoping to get enough speed to get through pow covered flats. Then suddenly, smack! The snow underneath me fell… there was a dip and I face planted into the other side of what appeared to be a small ravine. And as luck would have it…. Water began leaking into my books and pants. Yep, totally skied into a stream. I imagine that’s what happens to Polar bears a lot… oops. Nothing like a little pow and ice cold alpine streams to make you feel alive. Brrrrrr….

Fave Apres Ski Drink/Loc: Fave for Sure – Apres ski (pronounced shee) – In Austria. Bring on the Gluh Wein (hot spiced wine) and JagerTee (yes, that jagermeister hot tea). Hot Beverages and Loud Yodel Inspired Techno Music. Priceless… To top it all off, the après ski actually happens at the bar located strategically at the middle of the mountain. So about 2 hours later and 3 gluh weins heavy, the true test of skill is skiing (or snowboarding) down the mountain without taking out too many trees. Classic.

Favorite Ice Cream: Coconut Sorbet or any other ice cream that has nuts… not because I like nuts, but if it didn’t have coconuts or nuts my wife would eat it. I’m not a big dessert person but every once and a while I get a craving, so keeping ice cream with nuts or anything with coconuts in it assures me that I’ll have it in the fridge when I want it.

If your life had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it? A Hard Days Night, Maria , Somewhere (West Side Story), Sound of Silence, Mrs. Robinson (the Graduate), Days of Wine and Roses (Days of Wine and Roses), Lose Yourself (8 Mile), and finally The Great Escape – Main Theme, Elmer Bernstein

What is your fashion pet peeve? older men in short shorts that they kept from the 70’s and still wear. Or bright country club plain shorts, shirts and bright colored coats. Black socks and running shoes.

Fashion Pet Peeve: A girl that is one big walking trend, taking every possible trend that is happening and putting them all together in one outfit…ouch it hurts my eyes.

If you could be any animal, what would it be: It is a toss up between a golden eagle or a lion in Africa. Both are strong and independent.

Some Background: I moved to Colorado on a whim a week after college graduation, and havent left since! After working as a counselor in Estes Park for the first summer, I was lucky enough to get a job at Winter Park, and got pretty used to riding as part of my job! Super psyched to be part of ahlivv!

Favorite Apres Ski Drink/Loc: Beer and a Bump at the Derailer in Winter Park…although it’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed that treat!…Or beer and pizza at the Winter Park Pub…holla!

Style Pet Peeve: Tight jeans on the mountain…what is that?

Stomping Ground: Cleveland, OH commute and Hmm…would have to go with Vail, CO for most runs! Thank You Epic Pass!

Some Background: Born and Raised in a beautiful bubble in an eastern suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. I experienced the 80’s and 90’s fashion and music with three older sisters. My parents who truly love family and sports, passed that passion and love on to each of us! Within a life of Catholic schooling then off to the beautiful campus of the University of Colorado, Boulder, I continued my love for family and sports on the courts, rinks, fields, and slopes! After four years in the Colorado Rockies and graduating from the Leeds School of Business with a management degree I headed back east but this time to the Windy-City. The last two years I spent as a Sales & Catering Coordinator for the Affinia Chicago Hotel handling catering events and marketing efforts. PS: Everyone should experience the Magnificant Mile, WOW! Now back in the wonderful world of CO…I am back loving family and sports again within the wonderful world of ahlivv!

Craziest thing you’ve done on skis: Since this was not recent I will share. When I was 6 my parents took the fam to Copper Mountain. After a day in ski school with my sister and 2 stolen hats later (it was a day that gave 2nd degree burns to my other sister’s poor face..no SPF!) we hit the big lift to the top. After one wrong turn and one traverse attempt later, I was told to just go for it! Hitting every mogul and flying by my dad video taping, and about taking him out, I made it! Definitely craziest moment I remember! Thank you for mini bodies and no fear! Since then, transistioning to boarding then back to skiing! Is that crazy?

Favorite Apres Spot: Tough call…either Vendetta’s beer and PIZZA in Vail Village OR Aunt and Uncle’s hot tub and libations in Edwards!!

Favorite movie: This is such a TUFF question…at five I would have said Mary Poppins, 8- Peanut Butter Battle, 12- Dirty Dancing, 16- Ten Things I Hate About You, 20 – Kill Bill and at the wonderful age of 25 – I’m going to have to go with Lucky Number S7even & Pans Labyrinth!!
