Olympic snowboarder Kelly Clark once again reinforced her place in women’s snowboarding yesterday, taking first in the final stop of the Grand Prix at Killington Resort in Vermont. Clark’s winning run was loaded with a frontside air, backside five, frontside five, backside air, frontside seven, and cab seven. It was enough to exite her home crowd and win over the judges for her second back-to-back Grand Prix Title. Kelly continues to progress women’s snowboarding to the next level, pushing herself, her teammates, her competitors…and, the men as well. Kelly has blow the theory that women can’t go as big as men.
Joining Kelly on the podium were Gretchen Bleiler, who was equally stoked about her own run, and Madeline Shaffrick, the 14-year old rider from Steamboat, CO. Madeline took her first podium at the Grand Prix with authority, landing a straight air, back five, front five, air to fakie, switchback five, and cab three.
