Hannah Kearney: ‘Why I love my Nikita Outerwear’
As I write this blog I am the number one female mogul skier in the world. I have never had this honor and I am
enjoying it thoroughly. I earned this current title by winning the first world cup in France, getting third in Quebec, and first and second at two competitions in Utah. I am in Vancouver now for the Olympic test event and am hoping to continue my with consistent results. As a member of the US Freestyle team, I wear a uniform at all competitions and training camps, but in my personal training I am free to express my own style. With five weeks off over the holidays I had ample opportunity to sport my new Nikita outfit.
I am the proud owner of the Straightline Shell Pant and the Northstar Shell Jacket. Even though both pieces are shells, I was able to layer and stay warm in the sub zero temperatures of Vermont’s winter, with the help of my Orage second layer fleece. The fabric on my Nikita shells is waterproof and if you can stay dry while you are skiing, you are on the right track to staying warm. I love Nikita’s gear because it fits a woman’s body without looking like your mom’s ski outfit. It is fitted in all the right places so you can move comfortably and look stylish. The pants have a subtle pinstripe which is one of my favorite clothing details. The material is soft which makes them warmer than a traditional shell pant that would feel crunchy and cold against your skin. The Straightline pant has a unique bottom zipper so you can adjust the pant to fit over your ski boot, shoe or snowboard boot to create the exact look you desire.
To match these clay colored pants which, seem to me to have a tint of army green in them, I wear the bright yellow
Northstar shell jacket. I do not like wearing clothes with the brand written all over them since I spend plenty of time as a billboard in my U.S. Ski Team uniform, but Nikita’s connected “N”s create a cool gray star effec, which creates the famous Nikita star. And, stars happen to be my favorite shape. Since I’m on the topic of favorites, my favorite detail of the Northstar is the angled zipper which creates a unique aesthetic and a practical collar to shelter your face. It is manufactured with the attention to detail that makes Nikita a quality brand, such as a removable powder skirt, ipod pocket and adjustable drawstring bottom.
Kudos to a company that produces products that are practical and stylish. I know I ski my best when I feel good and I feel good when I look good.
Thanks Nikita and ahlivv!

Yes. The Nikita outerwear. sigh. Love the girls (and guys)in Iceland and those bringing it to us here in North America. Women’s snowboard jackets and pants (and women’s ski jackets and pants) with tons of style to spare. Not too flashy but definitely enough to show every woman’s snowboarding and/or skiing outerwear style. Thankful for this little gem. And love when other ahlivv girls love it too – BTW we definitely think the Nikita power off the training and competing hill is adding to Hannah’s success this season – oh right with a lot of hard work, dedication and well, downright skill. ahlivv loves Hannah (and pretty sure Nikita does too).
