Trendwatch: Styles of 2009

Though no one wants to continue hearing or reading about our economic times, this will be a first time read…The bad economy is now effecting fashion colors and looks!

2009 is seeing tons of colors in effort to bring that optimism and liviliness back in to our lives. In 2008 we saw blues and purples galore.  Well don’t pitch what you have just yet!  Wash ‘em a few extra times to get that softer color, and that’s all there is to it. The softer tones are in this year! Slate gray will be seen a ton and it works with the brights too.

Greens are the next best thing, and in all shades. Which again, that color of renewl! Why green?…Well, it’s the color of renewal of course!  The North Face Go-Go Cargo Ski Pants and the Nikita Algenib Fleece show how green is making a splash on the mountain and on the street. ..don’t know about you, but I feel renewed already!

Now for the ins and outs…who would have thought, they (the gods of fashion and trends) are already pushing skinny jeans out! Pretty sure our Sophie in the Level 99 Amber Skinny Jeans will never get old. But who am I! Shredded and torn jeans are now back in, which I think was way to fast, but I am sure I will be pulling out my old favs! Though I feel it is obvious I have to say it, jewelry is the name of the game, and tons of it! Along with showing off those shoulders and wearing barely-there make-up!

Next, say bye to the plastic rocker shades, their time was short but fun.

But hold on to your big belts and ballerina shoes, as their fad is still seeing the daylight!
