Transworld Snowboarding Riders Poll Awards

Diane Damra, ahlivv Team Rider

I checked out the riders poll awards during the SIA tradeshow in Vegas. My low energy level and Vegas hangover mysteriously disapperared as soon as I walked into the event. The crowd had alot of energy and the vibes were so good! Travis Rice was the man of the night. Marie Frances Roy also took home some awards on the ladies side. I actually just watched her video part last night in Rome/No Correct Way and it’s clear why she was the winner in these categories. Her riding is so powerful, creative and techie and has really set the bar high for the ladies. So much stoke. Ok here is the scoop.

TransWorld SNOWboarding honored the sport’s top athletes Wednesday night at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel during the 10th Annual Riders’ Poll Awards.  The night kicked-off with a $10K donation to Protect Our Winters (POW) and ended with amazing performances by Volcom bands Kandi Coded with Jamie Lynn and Tweak Bird. All that plus a spectacular awards show with host Todd Richards and a laundry list of snowboarding’s best as presenters, made this the perfect blowout for the show’s last year in Vegas (hello Denver!!).

The winners are:

Women’s Rookie Of The Year:
Raewyn Reid (DC Snowboarding)

Women’s Video Part Of The Year:
Marie-France Roy: Rome/No Correct Way

Women’s Readers’ Choice:
Marie-France Roy (Rome)

Men’s Rider Of The Year:
Travis Rice (Lib Tech)

Men’s Rookie Of The Year:
Lucas Debari (Burton)

Men’s Video Part Of The Year:
Travis Rice: Brainfarm/That’s It That’s All

Men’s Readers’ Choice:
Travis Rice (Lib Tech)

Women’s Rider Of The Year:
Jamie Anderson (Salomon)

Standout Of The Year:
Travis Rice—That’s It, That’s All Involvement/New tricks

Can’t wait for next year in Denver!
