Torah Bright Takes Gold at the X Games
Torah Bright took the gold with authority at the Women’s SuperPipe, in an eventful night for women’s snowboarders. Torah killed it on her last run with a backside 360 to switchback 720. She followed with a big McTwist and another 720 to seal the deal. Gretchen Bleiler took an unfortunate spill to end her night early. She gave her local fans a scare when she clipped the deck and summersaulted down the wall, hitting her head at the bottom. When she didn’t move for a minute, the crowd was silenced hoping to see her pop up. She did get up slowly and ride to bottom with a smile, in true Gretchen Bleiler form. Kelly Clark was next up, and also took a spill after finishing a solid first run. Despite a black eye, she managed to snag the silver, with Hannah Teter close behind with the bronze.
The dedication and heart of these girls is proof positive that women’s snowboarding is moving forward at a rapid pace. These girls continue to push the sport, and have the scars and bruises to prove it. But, there work has not gone unnoticed. The deck of the pipe, as well as the base were swamped with super excited fans…including the ahlivv crew! We’re so stoked that the X Games provided the biggest SuperPipe ever, and the girls continue to go bigger and bigger.
Get it Girls!!!
On a fun side note, Torah was rocking her new outerwear jacket from her signature Torah line…pretty sick.
