I am thrilled to be on what some may call a “green kick.” But truly it’s not a kick. However, it is this “kick” that gave me a deeper look into myself and the world of boardsports, the realm of online retail and the changing face of the global community.
The past few months, the last year really, has been not only a lesson on life and business, but also a lesson on being true: true to oneself in the face of obstacles. I love the outdoors – it is part of boardsports. The snow and magestic mountains (yes I am sounding hoaky) and then the surf and the sand… But most importantly, there is fresh, clean air and a cleansing of the soul that happens amidst mountain peaks, flakes of snow, crisp spruce, sea salt on the skin, and the gentle roll of the ocean. It is there in mother nature’s majesty where we find peace and… ourselves. How could I forget? In an industry full of mega brands and “who’s who” I even found myself drinking some damn koolaid. Done. And done.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, we’re just not the type of ladies who like to take things lying down. So, when we received our summer shipment from our favorite brands, plus some new ones that we were psyched to introduce, we decided we needed to celebrate. This was a perfect excuse to kick it with some old friends, make some new ones, show
off ahlivv’s summer style and celebrate our first official summer as ahlivv!
So, on May 29th, ahlivv threw a Poolside Party. We pulled out all the stops; awesome food, drinks, and even a new conconction called ahlivv JUICE. DJ Majai even came all the way from Summit County to spin for the occasion. We set up our store, and topped off the evening with an ahlivv fashion show. ahlivv owner Courtney Pugh collaborated with buyer Allyson Rhoads, mixing our brands and adding props, accessories, the works. The result: fabulous fashion show!
Even better, we’re thinking about recreating this event this winter…stay tuned!
